(From Knell Mortuary)Amy Lizabeth Jennings, 76, Carthage, Missouri, passed away Friday, April 7, 2023, at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin, Missouri. She was born on January 13, 1947, in Carthage, Missouri, the daughter of the late Edgar and Virginia (Crane) Linebarger.
Amy was a 1965 graduate of Carthage High School. She married Chuck Jennings on October 25, 1988, in Carthage.
She was a respiratory therapist for McCune Brooks in Carthage, and then for Freeman Hospital in Joplin, Missouri in their NICU until her retirement. Amy attended the First Baptist Church of Carthage. She enjoyed woodworking, gardening, but most of all taking care of her grand and great grandchildren.
Amy is survived by her husband, Chuck Jennings; her children, Cassie Barton (Jesse Heath), Joplin, Missouri, Shane Barton, Carthage, Missouri, and Rafe Barton (Alison), Carthage, Missouri; grandchildren, Kayla Hole (Mike), Carthage, Missouri, Morgan Samuels (Rob), Carthage, Missouri, Madison Barton (Colton McAtee), Carthage, Missouri, Lexie Magee, Joplin, Missouri, Clay Gardner (Skylar), Kansas City, Missouri, Shelby Gardner, Joplin, Missouri, Katie Barton, Carthage, Missouri, and Abbie Barton, Carthage, Missouri; great-grandchildren, Wyatt Hole, Kayden Hole, Lennox Hole, Magnolia Hole, Rane Maggard, Lake Maggard, Noah McAtee, Carter Magee, Zach Pratt, Asher Samuels, Adrian Samuels, and Mauri Samuels; brothers, Stephen Linebarger (Lydia), Memphis, Tennessee, and Jon Linebarger (Tracy) of Ohio; and a daughter in-law, Cammy Thomas.
Memorial visitation will be held from 3 to 4 pm, Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at the Knell Mortuary. A memorial service will be held at 4 pm Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at the Knell Mortuary.
