(From Lakin Funeral Home)Sarah Mae (Garrison) Cantrell, age 88, passed away on Friday, May 31, 2024, in Pierce City, MO.
She was born in Missoula, MT on Friday, June 7, 1935; daughter of Leo and Avah (Hood) Garrison. Sarah attended Sarcoxie High School. She married Virgil Cantrell on November 15, 1975 in Oklahoma.
Sarah enjoyed her family and food. Fall was her favorite season. She always looked forward to Thanksgiving when the family always gathered to share food and fun.
Sarah valued Bible studies with her friends at church. She was a member of Countryside Christian Church in Monett, MO. Sarah always looked forward to visits from her cousins too. She will be missed by many!
Surviving are the following: two sons, Mark (Joyce) Smith of Joplin, MO and Larry (Yvonne) Smith of Wyandotte, OK; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Sarah was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Cantrell; a son, Gregg Smith; her parents, Leo and Avah Garrison; and two siblings, Albert Garrison and Laura Joyce Krueger.
The family will receive friends at Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City, MO on Sunday, June 2, 2024, from 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM. Graveside Services will be at Pierce City Cemetery in Pierce City, MO on Monday, June 3, 2024, beginning at 11:00 AM with Larry and Mark officiating. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City, MO.
