Doris Joan “Jody” Pyle, age 85 of Joplin, Mo., passed away early Friday, March 10, 2017 at Mercy Hospital in Joplin.
Jody was born on October 18, 1931 in Webb City, Mo. the daughter of Earl and Frieda (Spencer) Burk. She has been a lifetime area resident and she spent most of her days as a homemaker, loving and caring for her family. However, she always made time for league bowling, summer, winter and in between.
She is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and her two husbands; Gerald C. Hair (1963) and Robert G. Pyle (1990). Survivors include three children; Katha (Hair) Snow of Petaluma, Ca., Rick Hair and wife Traci of Park City, Ut. and Michael Hair and wife Beth of Joplin, three sisters; Alice Bradford, Carol Misner and husband Charles, Sharon Gladden and husband Wallace, five grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services have been scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 14, 2017, at the Mason-Woodard Chapel. Randy Wilson, will officiate. Burial will follow at Carterville Cemetery. The family will receive friends during a time of visitation Monday evening from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to be mad to Mercy Hospice of Joplin in care of the mortuary.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.
