Joseph “Joey” Smith, age 61 of Joplin, Missouri formerly of Carterville, Missouri passed away Monday March 6, 2017 following a sudden illness.
He was born March 22, 1955 to Joseph and Maxine (O’Banion) Smith.
Joey worked at the Sheltered Workshop in the laundry department.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Everett Smith, Howard O'Banion, one sister Roberta Watts, and special friends, Leslie and Norma Deverick.
Joey is survived by one brother Larry Smith, Joplin, Missouri; two sisters, Janey Terry, Webb City, Missouri, Tilda Spoon, Carterville, Missouri, and a very special caregiver, Heather McLemore.
Graveside services will be 3:00 pm Friday March 10, 2017 at the Carterville Cemetery with Brother Kenji Harrington officiating.
