Wilbur Brubaker

Wilbur G. Brubaker, 81, of Pittsburg, formerly of Golden City, MO, passed away at 9:04 p.m., Thursday, March 9, 2017, at Medicalodge South of Pittsburg. 

He was born June 6, 1935, at Elizabethtown, PA, the son of Charles E. and Etta (Geib) Brubaker. He graduated Hershey High School. 

On June 8, 1957, he was united in marriage to Edna S. Tyson, together they shared 59 years. She survives of the home. Mr. Brubaker was a farmer. Before that he had done alternative 1-W service in Ann Arbor, MI. Membership was held in the Osage Church of the Brethren, McCune, KS. In addition to his wife, Mr. Brubaker is survived by his mother, Etta Brubaker, seven children; Joycetta (Bruce) Wanner, of Gap, PA, J. Larry (Becky) Brubaker, of Bella Vista, AR, Evelyn (Gary) Woodrum, of Pittsburg, KS, Cheryl (Bill) Pickenpaugh, of Gilmer, TX, David (Tina) Brubaker, of Golden City, MO, Nancy (Ray) Simhiser, of Stockton, MO, and Karen (Joe) Morgan, of Lamar, MO, five brothers; Allen, Glenn, Charles, Roy, and Mark Brubaker, five sisters; Helen Haldeman, Mildred Feliz, Nancy Fahnestock, Janet Rios and Lois Horst, 19 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father and two grandchildren. 

A service for Mr. Brubaker is set for 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 14, 2017, at the Osage Church of the Brethren, with Pastor Harold Groth officiating. Burial will follow in the Osage Church of the Brethren Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m., at the church, on Tuesday. The family suggests memorials to the Osage Church of the Brethren Missions Fund. These may be left at or mailed to the Brenner Mortuary, 114 East 4th St., Pittsburg, KS 66762.
