Ronnie James 'R.J.' Isiaih Daniels, age 18, Joplin, passed away Thursday, March 2, 2017 at Mercy Hospital.
R.J. was born November 7, 1998 in Joplin and was a lifetime resident.
He was a student at Joplin High School and was anticipating graduation this May. R.J. was a member of the Flex program at the high school and was involved with the Saturday Night Live program at Central Christian Center as a counselor to young people. He enjoyed fishing; his Chevy truck; music; his friends and anything Batman. On February 26 of this year, R.J. rededicated his life to Christ, something he was very proud of. He was a member of New Hope Assembly, The Sanctuary, and Grace Church of Joplin.
He was raised by his grandparents/mom and dad, Steve and Pat (Crandell) Russell, Joplin. R.J. is also survived by sisters, Audra and Cherokee Daniels; his step-father, Ronnie Daniels; his natural father, Roy Cox; sister, Danielle Cogbill; brothers, Roy Cox, Jr., Cameron Cox; grandparents, Ernie and Donna Cox; great grandmother, Jean Russell; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends whom he loved dearly.
On February 20, 2017, R.J. was preceded in death by his mother, Kristina Daniels.
Services are planned for Thursday at 6:00 p.m. at Forest Park Joplin Church. Pastor Bob Winnett will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until service time at the church.
Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
