Loyd V. Heckart, 70, Goodman, passed away March 3, 2017 at his home, following a lengthy illness.
Loyd was born June 23, 1946 in Colorado Springs, CO, the son of Marvin E. and Geneva (Allen) Heckart. He was a resident of the Neosho, Pierce City and Goodman area and also lived in Syracuse, KS where he graduated in 1964. Loyd worked at La Z Boy Midwest from 1972 until retiring in 2008. He enjoyed hunting, camping and fishing. He also coached the La Z Boy softball team from 1976 to 1983. He was a former member of the Patterson Heights Baptist Church west of Anderson, MO.
Loyd married Mary Hopper on April 29, 1983 in Neosho. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Eric Heckart, Wichita, KS and Brian (Deanie) Heckart, Seneca, MO; one daughter, Michelle (Ray) Trimble, St. Louis, MO; one brother, Marvin (Debbie) Heckart, Jr., Joplin, MO; one sister, Deborah (Jim) Elbert, Pierce City, MO; fourteen grandchildren; one great-granddaughter. In addition to her parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, Ernest E. Heckart, and a grandson.
Graveside Services and burial will be 10 am., Thursday, March 9, 2017 at the Hazel Green Cemetery with Dr. Ed Upton will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5 to 6:30 pm Wednesday at the Clark Funeral Home, Neosho.
