Ruth E. Cope, 89, Seneca, MO, passed into eternal rest at 10:20 AM, March 6, 2017 at the Seneca House Nursing Home after a long illness.
Ruth E. Chapman was born July 7, 1929 the daughter of Gordon and Myde Chapman. She worked at the former State Bank of Seneca as a Teller. Ruth was baptized into Christ at the age of 11 and she was a member of the Seneca Church of Christ.
Ruth E. Chapman married Harry Cope December 24, 1970 in Seneca, MO and he preceded her in death May 18, 2010. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Lucile Steele; one brother, Lyle Chapman; two nieces, Annetta Black and Shirley Rogers.
Survivors include nieces and nephews; Dennis and Janie Steele, Mexico, MO, Lonnie and Janie Steele, Seneca, MO and Sara and Jack Jones, Seneca, MO; 10 great-nieces and nephews and 15 great-great nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 pm, Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at the Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home.
Funeral services under the direction of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at the Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca, MO with Jake King minister officiating. Burial will be in the Swars Prairie Church of Christ Cemetery with Trevor Black, Michael Steele, Nick Black, Allen Pendergraft, Jacob Steele and Bryce Wade serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be James Black, Zack Lannon and Tyler Niavarani.
