Anna Louise Velten, age 86, of Pierce City, MO died on Thursday, November 17, 2016, at her granddaughter's home near Wentworth, MO. Mrs. Velten was born in Sarcoxie, MO on Saturday, June 28, 1930, and was the daughter of Anthony and Stella (Clapper) Gripka. Miss. Gripka married Charles Velten on Saturday, August 22, 1953 in Pierce City MO and he preceded her in death on April 1, 2016 after 62 years of marriage. Mrs. Velten was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Pierce City, MO.
Surviving are the following: her three children, David Velten (Marsha) of Weyers Cave, VA, Edward Velten (Lynda) of Pierce City, MO, and Jake Velten (Cris) of Monett, MO; one sister, Betty Terry of Diamond, MO; three brothers, Anthony Gripka of Pierce City, MO, Willie Gripka of Cassville, MO, and Charles Gripka of Nixa, MO; twelve grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren. Mrs. Velten was preceded in death by one son, Joe, in 2014.
Rosary Services will be held on Monday, November 21, 2016, at 6:30 PM at Lakin Funeral Home in Pierce City, MO with visitation to follow.
Funeral Mass will be at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Pierce City, MO on Tuesday, November 22, 2016, beginning at 10:30 AM with Father Peter J. Morciniec officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Pierce City, MO.
