Emily Cave

Emily Cecilia Cave, age 103, of Joplin, Mo. moved to her heavenly home at 3:50 a.m. Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at Foxberry Terrace Assisted Living Center. Emily was born April 10, 1913 in Montgomery, Indiana. She was the youngest of 12 children born to Alexander and Flora Dant Newton. Emily married E. Duane Jewell on December 24, 1938 and subsequently relocated to San Diego, California in 1941. They had one daughter, Elicia Jewell, born January 12, 1946. Duane passed away on July 18, 1955. Emily then married Robert Cave on May 3, 1957. Robert passed away January, 1984. Emily relocated to Joplin, Mo. with her daughter Elicia and family.

Emily is survived by her daughter, Elicia Jewell Good and her husband William, three step-daughters, Dolores Riehl, Pauline Lindblad, and Bobbie VanFleet 3 grandchildren, Julie Ann Hilt and husband Leigh, Robert William Good and wife Lori, Dennis Duane Good and wife Jamie, 10 great grandchildren: Chad Durnal, Corinne Durnal Schiele, Jessica Hilt, Alan Good, Bethany Good Halstead, Peter Good, Emily Good, Ashlee Good, Rachel Good, Brandon Good, and 2 great great grandchildren; Lillian Joy Durnal, and Rhett Calson Schiele, 11 step grandchildren, 22 step great grandchildren, and 26 step great great grandchildren.

Emily wrote regarding her family history; “My childhood was very uneventful it seems but with the watchful care and guidance of our God above, I have had the pleasures and sorrows that go along with life and I can live with the pleasant memories as time goes on.”

Memorial Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Friday at the Foxberry Terrace Clubhouse, 4316 N. St. Louis, Webb City, Mo. with Jay St. Clair, Minister, Officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to Life Choices, 531 E. 7th. St., Joplin, Mo. 64801 in memory of Emily. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Park Cemetery, San Diego, California. Local arrangements have been entrusted to the Mason-Woodard Mortuary of Joplin, Mo.
