Jewell P. Stoots, age 96, of Joplin, Mo. passed away Saturday, November 12, 2016 at her home. Jewell was born October 7, 1920 in Anderson, Mo. to the late George and Clara (Watson) Willis. Jewell was a homemaker.
Jewell married Aud E. Stoots on December 20, 1936 in Joplin, Mo. He preceded her in death on April 26, 1995. She was also preceded in death by two sons Ronald Stoots and David Stoots, two sisters and three brothers. Survivors include one son, Austin Stoots and his wife Lois of Joplin., daughter-in-law, Christine Stoots of Tulsa, Ok., one sister Georgia Boyd of Valley Center, Ks., one brother, Harvey Willis of Anderson, Mo., five grandchildren, Brad Stoots and his wife Debbie, Marla Lewis and her husband Roger, Debra Hampton and her husband Harold, Dennis Stoots and his wife Christy and Jason Stoots and his wife Alison, ten great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday November 17, 2016 at the Second Assembly of God Church, Joplin, Mo. Reverand John Veazey will officiate. Burial will follow the service at Burkhart Cemetery, Racine, Mo. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 – 7 p.m. at the Mortuary.
Contributions may be given to Mercy Hospice in care of the Mortuary
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mason-Woodard Mortuary and Crematory.
