Johnny Robert Donaldson, age 79, of Joplin, Mo. passed away at 4:29 p.m. Sunday November 27, 2016. Johnny was born January 10, 1937 in Alpena, Arkansas. He has been a resident in Joplin since 1968. Johnny retired as Tool and Dye Manager for Eagle Picher Industries, Precision Products Department. He was a member of Forest Park Baptist Church, and was a member of the American Society of Tool and Mfg. Engineers.
Johnny married Robbie Jean Etter July 6, 1957 in Monett, Mo. and she survives. Additional survivors include a son, John Donaldson, Joplin, two daughters, Diana Prater and husband Rick, Wyandotte, Ok., and Deborah Souter and husband Blake, Rogersville, Mo., three brothers, Gene Donaldson and George Donaldson, both of Ks., and Hugh Donaldson, Ar., seven sisters, Nadene Henderson, Mary Armstrong, Rose Becker, and Virginia Allen, all of Ks., Freda Roach and Rita Holt, both of Ca., and Carolyn Elmborg, Joplin, nine grandchildren, Brandi Dodson and husband Richard, Joshua Locke, Ami Hall and husband Gerod, Jetta Walker and husband Cliff, Shaun Locke and wife Tasha, Brad Prater and wife Janet, Judd Donaldson, Hannah Souter, and Hailey Souter, and 15 great grandchildren. Johnny was preceded in death by a sister, Louise Oberzan, and a great granddaughter, Madisyn Jade Walker.
Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday at the Forest Park Baptist Church Worship Center with Dr. John Swadley and John Donaldson, officiating. Burial will follow in the Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joshua Locke, Shaun Locke, Judd Donaldson, Richard Dodson, Gerod Hall, and Cliff Walker. Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. Thursday at Forest Park Baptist Church Chapel. Memorial contributions are requested to the Alzheimer’s Assoc. in care of the Mortuary. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mason-Woodard Mortuary of Joplin, Mo.
