Roxie A. Guinn, 90, Stella, Missouri, died November 27, 2016 at Freeman West in Joplin, following a sudden illness.
Roxie was born November 15, 1926 in Stella, one of fourteen children, the daughter of John A. and Edna (Jackson) VanSlyke. She was a lifelong area resident and a graduate of Stella, class of 1944. She co-owned and operated a dairy farm with her husband, Clifford, working along- side with him all of their married life. She enjoyed reading, genealogy, traveling, sewing, gardening, cooking, baking and spending time with her family. She was a member of the Stella Baptist church and Sunday school teacher since the mid 1940’s.
Roxie and Clifford Guinn were married May 20, 1944 in Bentonville, Arkansas and he survives. Additional survivors include two sons, Klint Guinn and wife, Vickie and Keith Guinn and wife, Sheila, all of Stella; six grandchildren, Joe Guinn, David Guinn, Jaysa Bookwalter, Jaclyn McCully, Justin Guinn and Rachel Neher; twelve great grandchildren, Shelby, Taylor, Mason, Kaitlyn, Josie, Morgan, Alivia, Cole, Jaxson, Caleb, Remi, Wyatt and one to be born in April, 2017 and special friends of over 63 years, James and Norma Mills and John and Donna Carmichael. She is preceded in death by her parents and thirteen siblings.

Services will be Saturday, Dec. 3, 2016 at 11 am at the Stella Baptist Church, Rev. Jerry Yarnell and Rev. Stanley Upchurch will officiate. Interment will follow in the Macedonia Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5 to 7 pm at Stella Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Roxie may be made to Stella Baptist Church, c/o Clark Funeral Home, PO Box 66, Neosho, MO 64850.
