Nathan Andrew Burns, age 33 of Joplin, Mo., passed away on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at his home.
Nathan was born on March 23, 1983 in Joplin, the son of Benjamin and Annie (Mitchell) Burns. He has been a lifetime area resident. He worked as a cook for Instant Karma Gourmet Hot Dogs and at Blackthorn Pizza & Pub. Nathan was an avid music lover and was known in the downtown music scene. He loved going to concerts of all kinds, from local basement shows, to jamming with his friends in a living room, to big arenas. Nathan was also quite an artist, all of his life he would do drawings for his family and friends.
He is survived by his parents, aunts and uncles, Missy and Scott Jackson of Carl Junction, Mo., David Burns of Joplin, Loretta Richey of Joplin, Kim Starkey of Rogers, Ar., Mary Vantresse of Joplin and Robby Burns of Palm Bay, Fl., many cousins and close friends.
Funeral services have been scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at the Mason-Woodard Chapel, with Paul Moser, officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery in Webb City, Mo. The family will receive friends during a time of visitation on Monday evening from 6 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
