Lillian Alice Schulze, age 79 of Joplin, Missouri, went to her heavenly home on Monday, November 14, 2016 at Freeman Hospital following an extended illness.
Lillian was born March 28, 1937 in Chelsea, Oklahoma to the late Emil Schulze and Selma Radke Schulze. She graduated in 1955 from Chelsea High School. Lillian was self-employed as a housekeeper for many years. She was a long time member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Joplin where she sang in the church choir and was a Sunday School teacher. Lillian volunteered as a Cub Scout and Girl Scout leader. She loved the outdoors and spending all the time she could with her grandkids, never missing a ballgame.
Surviving Lillian are two children, April Jacobs and husband, Mark of Joplin and Trent Schulze of Joplin; brothers, Ted Schulze and wife, Frances of Chelsea, Edwin Schulze of Chelsea; sisters, Margaret Sutton and Pearl Harper, both of Claremore, Oklahoma and Bernice Walker and husband, Johnny of Chelsea; eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren; plus numerous extended family and friends.
Other than her parents, Lillian is preceded in death by brothers, Gary, Albert, Norman, Ernest and Clarence Schulze.
Funeral services are planned for Thursday, November 17 at 1:00 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Joplin with Pastor Gregory Mech, officiating. Family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6-7:00 p.m. at Parker Mortuary. Burial will take place on Friday, November 18 at 11:00 a.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church Cemetery, Adair, Oklahoma.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Parker Mortuary to help family with funeral expenses.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
