Josephine Davison, age 98, of Carthage, MO., passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2016 after a sudden illness. Josephine was born April 24, 1918, in Joplin, MO, to the late Agnes and Orville Davison. After attending Joplin schools, Josephine attended Texas A&M College, graduating with honors. Josephine earned many achievements and honors throughout her education. She worked 30 years for the Internal Revenue Service, in Washington, DC, training many future supervisors in the department. Josephine received awards for outstanding performance and accomplishments with the IRS Farm Bill. Josephine was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Carthage. She had a passion for music, performing years in the Washington, DC Choral Society and in the Joplin Sweet Adelines. Her love for music led her to many wonderful friendships and traveling opportunities. Josephine enjoyed traveling and experiencing the beauty not only in the United States, but many other countries as well.
Josephine had many dear friends whom she called her family. She loved life, enjoyed watching football and tennis, and was a great conversationalist with others.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, November 18, 2016, with visitation at 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Ulmer Funeral Home in Carthage, MO. Services to be officiated by Father Jose Araque Aceredo.
