Betty Lee Wininger, age 81, of Joplin, passed away on Sunday November 25, 2018 at The Communities of Wildwood Ranch.
Betty was born on June 15, 1937 in Joplin, to the late Albert and Cora (Jones) Bennett. She was a lifelong resident and attended Joplin High School. In 1952 she was united in marriage to Joe Ray Turner for 16 years, and to this union, five children were born. Her and Joe later separated, and Joe preceded her in death in 2014. Betty loved to shop and was a licensed Real-estate agent.
In March of 1968 she was united in marriage to Edmond Doyle Wininger in Eugene, OR., he preceded her in death on February 24, 2016. Together they raised their blended family, and she assisted Edmond in the growing day-to-day operation of Wininger Realty in Joplin.
Survivors include her children Rick Turner and his wife, Terry, of Joplin, MO, Mardisa Rich and her husband, Jerry, of Grove, OK, Dan Turner, of Webb City, MO, Tim Turner and his wife, Donna, of Walnut Grove, MO, Joe Turner, and his wife, Vicki, of Carterville, MO, Shawn Wininger, and his wife, Tiffany, of Joplin, MO, Trudy Fort and her husband, David, Carterville, MO, Ed Wininger, of Joplin, MO, and Gary Wininger and his wife, Chrystal, of Joplin, MO; two brothers, Albert “Sonny” Amos Bennett of Joplin, and Larry “Bubby” Bennett, of Hutchinson, KS; two sisters, Zola Brill, of Carterville, MO, and Della Nichols, of Springfield, MO; twenty-nine grandchildren; and numerous great and great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother; three sisters, and one son, Kevin Wininger in 1987.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 30, 2018 at 11:00 am at the Mason-Woodard Mortuary in Joplin with burial to follow at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday November 29th from 6:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the mortuary. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation and entrusted to the mortuary.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory, Joplin.
