Ervin Wellesley

Ervin J. Wellesley, 86, Neosho, Missouri, entered into rest on Nov. 20, 2018 following an extended illness.

 Ervin was born Dec. 15, 1931 in Jane, Missouri to Wilbur C. and Anne M. (Robinson) Wellesley. He was a lifelong area resident and graduated in 1949 from White Rock School in Jane, MO. Ervin served in the U.S. Navy, during the Korean Conflict, Dec. 1950 to Oct. 1954. He began working at Rocketydyne in 1961 and continued working for Continental Engines and Teledyne, retiring from Teledyne. He was a member of and served as a Steward of the Machinist Union; coached little league baseball, was active in the Boy Scouts, enjoyed deer hunting and enjoyed trout fishing at Roaring River. Ervin loved sports, especially Cardinal baseball, Neosho and area schools football and KU Basketball. He was baptized in 1969 and was a member of the Goodman First Baptist Church.

Ervin and Betty (Embrey) were married on April 18, 1953 in Fairview and she preceded him in death on July 18, 2018.
He is survived by three children, Pamela Dougherty and husband, Douglas of McGaheysville, VA; Janet Talbot and husband, Brian of Joplin and Galen Wellesley and wife, Debra of Platte City, MO; one brother, Dennis Wellesley of Wichita, KS; one sister, Shirley Wasman of Springfield, MO; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by four siblings, Wayne, Clyde, Elwyn and Mayme.

Funeral services will be held on Sat., Nov. 24, 2018 at 2 pm at the Clark Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, Neosho, Rev. Ronald Bridges will officiate. Interment will follow in the Dice Cemetery, Fairview, MO.  The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5 to 6 pm at the Clark Funeral Home, Neosho.
