Shirley Ann Carter, Granby, MO passed away Nov. 18, 2018 at 55 years of age. She was born July 26, 1963 in Perris, CA to Carl and Ivalene (Woody) Smith. Shirley was a truck driver. She and Steven Carter were married May 2, 2016 in Miami, OK; he survives of the home.
Additional survivors include her mother, Ivalene Sweeney; five step-children: Bradley Carter of Joplin, MO, Joshua Carter of Stockton, MO, Thomas Carter of Noel, MO, Lt. Col. Clara Williams of Ft. Bragg, NC, and Stella Carter of Rittehude, Germany; four brothers: Terry Smith of Reeds, MO, Huray Smith of Joplin, MO, Jimmy Smith of Carthage, MO, and W.C. Smith, of Joplin, MO; five sisters: Carolyn Rea of Oronogo, MO, Mary Jane Russell of Joplin, MO, Pattie Fletchall of Joplin, MO, Teresa Joslen of Carthage, MO, and Debbie Kile of Independence, KY; fifteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Shirley was preceded in death by her father.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
