Heather Marie VanWagner, 42, Seneca, MO, passed away Monday afternoon, November 12, 2018 at her home. Heather Marie Smith was born April 17, 1976 in Carthage, MO to Roy G. Smith and Belva J. (Baugh) Smith. She was a 1994 graduate of Neosho High School. Heather attended New Dimensions School of Hair Design and received her cosmetology license. She worked at the front desk of the Days Inn, Joplin, MO. Heather married Brent VanWagner on June 29, 2002 in Seneca, MO; he survives. She was Baptist by faith.
Survivors include her parents, her husband, one brother, Charley Smith (Jennifer), Woodbury, TN; one sister Jeannie Addy (Doug), Neosho, MO; six nephews, Carter B. Smith, Perry VanWagner, Jacob VanWagner, Trent VanWagner, Zachary Baird, and Isaac Baird; three nieces, Adele Smith, Natalie VanWagner, and Amber Copple; and paternal grandfather, Charley Smith (Susie), Murfreesboro, TN.
She was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Kenneth A. & Garnett Baugh, and paternal grandmother, Helen “Honey” Smith.
Services will be held 2 pm, Friday, November 16, 2018 at Fairview Christian Church, Carthage. Interment will follow the service at Fasken Cemetery, Carthage. Online condolences may be expressed through www.knellmortuary.com. Arrangements are under the direction and personal care of Knell Mortuary.
