Marlene White

Mrs. Marlene Ruth Everts White, 86, of Sarcoxie, Missouri, passed away early Monday morning, November 26, 2018 at the Sarcoxie Nursing Center.

Marlene entered this life on October 20, 1932 in LaRussell, Missouri to the union of the late John and Noema (Galloway) Lawson. She was a 1950 graduate of Sarcoxie High School. On December 6, 1952 she was united in marriage to Jasper David Everts and together they shared forty-three years until his passing on June 18, 1996. Later she married R.D. White and he preceded her in death on September 23, 2004. Marlene was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and loved her family dearly. She was of the Methodist faith. She enjoyed fishing, needlepoint and cooking. She was known to many as “Mom”. She will be truly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, J.D. Everts and R.D. White; one grandson, Ethan Giett; two brothers, Leroy Lawson and Gene Lawson; and a step-daughter, Ann Weaver.

Marlene is survived by her children, Jadene Corum of Sarcoxie, David Everts (Tonjia) of LaRussell, Terri Everts (Tom Gripka) of Pierce City and Kim LaRue (David) of Carthage; step-children, Terry White (Karen) of LaRussell, Debra Block and Sibel Garnett, both of Sarcoxie, and Dea Schnake (Jerold) of Carthage; eleven grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews; extended family; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Graveside services for Mrs. White are 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 30, 2018 at Harvey Cemetery with Pastor Ron Henson officiating. Those honoring her life by serving as pallbearers are Jared Kisling, Keaton Giett, Nate Everts, Jason Bittick, Jeff Murray and Terry White. Honorary pallbearers are Kobe Kisling, Colby Davis, Ethan Giett, Tyler Davis, Tucker Bittick, Hayden Kisling, Hayes Terry, Jordan Long, Jamison Bittick and Kelton McLanahan. The family has directed memorial contributions to the Sarcoxie Nursing Center Activities Fund in care of the funeral home.
