Karen Joyce Slinker, age 76, of Springfield, Missouri died Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at Mercy Hospital – Springfield.
Karen was born, November 24. 1942 in Lamar, Missouri to Harry Felix “Bill” Davis and Minnie Georgia (Frieden) Davis and was a 1960 graduate of Lamar High School. On May 15, 1959 she married Bob Slinker and together they raised two children. Karen worked for many years as a respiratory therapist and had been active in Bridge Clubs, Beta Sigma Phi, the “Deer Club” and was a member of the Methodist Church.
Karen leaves behind her husband Bob Slinker after 59 years of marriage; one son, Derek (Diane) Slinker, Branson West, Missouri; one daughter, Rochele Woodard, Springfield, Missouri; one brother, Stan Davis, Springfield, Missouri; four grandchildren, Chelsea (Whitney) Russell-Ice, Kimber (Sean) Reid, Hanna (Kindall) Martin, and Madeline Slinker; two great grandchildren Margot Russell-Ice and Stella Reid; three nephews, Rick Davis, James Davis and Marvin Davis. Her parents preceded her in death.
Funeral service will be 11:00 am, Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Daniel Funeral Home with burial to follow in Lake Cemetery.
The family will receive friends 10:00 am until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
Contributions are suggested to American Cancer Society in care of Daniel Funeral Home.
