Gloria D. Augter, age 93, of Azle, TX, formerly of Joplin, passed away on December 23, 2019 at Medical City in Weatherford, TX., following an illness.
Gloria was born on September 28, 1926 in Cunningham, Ks, the daughter of the late H.D. Doty and Clara (Hunt) Doty.
She married Eugene Augter on November 5, 1945 in Joplin, together they had three children. She worked as a Medical Technician in Joplin and in Bedford, TX. She was a charter member of Eagle Mountain Methodist Church in Azle, Texas, where she also sang in the choir. She enjoyed singing, playing the organ, painting, reading and playing bridge. She loved spending time with her family and attending all her children and grandchildren’s various events. She loved living in the country, raising horses and traveling to horse shows with her family.
Gloria was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Eugene Augter in 1992; and by her brother, Glennis Lee Doty.

She is survived by her sons, Dr. Gary Augter, McAlester, OK, Gregory Augter, of California; a daughter, Debbie Springfield and husband Joseph Fileccia, Azle, TX; three grandchildren, Sierra Horton and husband Dallas, Springtown, TX, Jesse Springfield, Azle, TX, and Regina Plohal and husband Chad, of North Carolina; and one great-grandchild born on Christmas Day, Olivia Rose Plohal.
A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Max Rainey will officiate. The visitation will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Mason-Woodard Mortuary.
Arrangements are under the direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.
