Harvey Edward Davis, Jr., age 63, of Joplin, Missouri, passed away Sunday morning, December 22, 2019, at Mercy Hospital in Joplin.
Harvey was born in Joplin, Missouri, on December 12, 1956, to Harvey Edward Davis, Sr., and Georgia Evelyn (Goodson) Davis. He attended schools in Seneca, Missouri. Harvey worked in maintenance for the City of Seneca for 16 years. He last worked for Crystal Clean Car Wash in Joplin for 20 years.
Harvey could always fix anything broken with his mechanical skills he learned from his dad, Harvey Sr. He enjoyed hot rods and tinkering on various projects. Harvey loved his family, especially his grandchildren, and any time spent with them was always his favorite.
He was preceded in death by his father; and his grandparents, Clovis and Nanny Davis and Clarence and Mary Goodson; and several aunts and uncles.
Survivors include four children, Rick Davis and wife, Melissa, of Wyandotte, Oklahoma, Matthew Davis and wife, Melinda, of Russellville, Arkansas, Robert Davis and wife, Lorna, of Gum Log, Arkansas, and Whitney Davis of Dardanelle, Arkansas; seven grandchildren; his mother, George Evelyn Davis, of Joplin; two sisters, Susan Houchin of Joplin and Carolyn Whitehead and husband, Daniel, of Diamond, Missouri; as well as a host of extended family and friends.
Memorial services will be announced at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
