JuliAnn Bennett

JuliAnn Bennett, age 87, of Lamar, Missouri passed away July 3, 2020, at Truman Healthcare and Rehabilitation in Lamar, Mo.

JuliAnn was born June 25, 1933 in Jerico Springs, Mo to Vernal Basil Jenkins and Nora Mildred (Sewell) Jenkins. She graduated from William Chrisman High School in Independence, Mo. On September 17, 1954, she married Luther “Ben” Embry and together they had six children. On December 27, 1983, she married Edward Terrell Bennett in Miami, Ok.

JuliAnn was a homemaker and had worked at Rogers Flies and Lures and Thorco Industries. She also worked many years at the Blue Top Best Western Motel. She was best known for her infectious smile with ruby red lipstick that could light up an entire room, and her genuine kind-heartedness that she extended to everyone she met. 








She wrote poetry, journaled for years, loved gardening and tending her flowers. She also loved bike riding, traveling, and was a puzzle master. In her later years, she treasured her family and loved talking about all the precious children her six kids brought into the world.
She was a devout Christian, and a member of the Community of Christ church.

Survivors include a son, Bill (Crystal) Embry, Malden, MO; four daughters, Shirley (Bill) Gaither, Lamar, MO; Betty Embry, Joplin, MO; Jeannie (Jerry) Thieman, Lamar MO; Sherry Embry, Nixa MO; 26 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and 1 great, great grandchild.

Preceding JuliAnn in death were her husband Ben Embry and husband Edward Bennett, a son, Daniel Dale Embry, four brothers, Lee Jenkins, Charles Jenkins, Ed Jenkins, David Horne, and a grandson, Landyn Davis.

A private family service well be held at Daniel Funeral Home with burial to follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
