Mrs. Beverly Mae Peterson, 91, of Oronogo, Missouri, departed this life on Saturday morning, September 26, 2020, in the comfort of her home.
Beverly entered this life on September 16, 1929, in Golden Valley, Minnesota, daughter of the late Mark William and Grace Elizabeth (Almquist) Kinney. She was raised in Golden Valley and was a 1947 graduate of Golden Valley High School. She furthered her education by receiving a teacher’s certificate from Mankato State College.
On June 13, 1950, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, she was united in marriage to Warren Richard Peterson and to this union three children were born. In 1968, she and Warren moved their family to Phoenix, Arizona. Besides being a devoted homemaker, she also assisted Warren with their investment and rental properties. In 1995 they relocated to Oronogo, Missouri. She enjoyed reading, sewing, cooking, craft projects and was a talented artist. She was a member of the homebound church group, The Truth.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of sixty years, Warren Peterson on December 10, 2012; and two children, Ricky Peterson and Sandra Rudolph.
Beverly is survived by her daughter, Nancy Peterson of Oronogo, Missouri; son-in-law, Ron Rudolph of Castro Valley, California; eight grandchildren, Stephanie Bunger, Shanna Fain, Stacie Steward, Sheena Bunger, Nathan Rudolph, Cody Rudolph, Sherese Grigg and Toby Rudolph; twenty-four great grandchildren; as well as a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services are 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 3, 2020, in the chapel of Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary in Joplin, Missouri with George Walker and Daniel Farris officiating. Burial will follow at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery in Joplin, Missouri.
Those honoring her life by serving as pallbearers are Anthony Fain, Toby Rudolph, Cody Rudolph, Tom Steward, Jace Henry and Kingston Williams. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 5-7:00 p.m. in the mortuary chapel.
