(From Clark Funeral Home)Carole Herron was born December 14, 1941 in Maryville, Missouri, the daughter of Orville L. and Helen M. (Pruitt) Simpson. She entered into rest on September 29, 2020 in the comfort of her home, following a brief illness at the age of 78.
She attended high school at Berkley, California and Maryville High School. Carole moved to Joplin, Missouri in 1967 from Amazonia, Missouri and to Neosho in 1974.
While in Joplin, she worked as a dietary aide at the Oak Hill Hospital. It was during this time, she met the love of her life, Terry Herron and they married in 1968 and raised a blended family together in Neosho. After time off to be with her children, she returned to work and worked for the Neosho Public Schools food service as a cook for nineteen years and then in the jewelry department at Wal-Mart.
Carole enjoyed traveling across the United States and visiting family wherever they were. She was always there for her family and they brought her the most joy in life. She helped raise many of her grandchildren following her retirement. In her later years, she enjoyed life at Pine Island Resort, fishing, boating and spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of the PAL-police Awareness League in the late 1970's and early 1980's. She was saved at Saginaw in the early 1970's and baptized in Shoal Creek and currently a member of the Neosho First Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Carole and Terry Bill Herron were married on March 15, 1968 in Miami, Oklahoma and he preceded her in death on June 29, 2014.
She is survived by three children, Steven (Cynthia) Herron of the Springfield area, Launie (Max) Dalton of Anderson and Susan (Rick) Wallace of Neosho; a stepson, William (Mary) Herron of Carthage; two brothers, Leroy Simpson of Orange Dale, California and Gary (Pat) Hopper of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; eleven grandchildren, Crystal Reynolds, Shane Dalton, Alyssa Dalton, Christopher Herron, Faith Herron, Tara DeWitt, Tori Pryor, Sheri Case, Stacia Wallace, Brandyn Herron and Bethany Herron and twelve great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, William Simpson.
