Curtis Ulmer

Curtis James Ulmer, age 30 passed away at his home at 12:35 am, Saturday, October 3, 2020.

Curtis was born July 23, 1990 in Parsons, KS. His parents were Gerald Leroy and Lee Ann (Curtis) Ulmer. He had lived in Joplin the past 10 years moving from Pittsburg, KS.

He graduated from Southeast High School, Cherokee, KS with the class of 2008. Among his interests were fishing and caring for his children.

Surviving is his fiancé, Brittany Patterson of the home; one son, Drastyn Corey James Ulmer, Council Grove, KS; one daughter, Raylee Annmarie Ulmer, of the home; stepfather, Steve Childers, Weir, KS; grandfather, Donald Curtis, Weir; sister, Emilee Ulmer, Weir; half-brother, Samuel Childers, Weir; stepbrother, Chris Childers, Girard; and stepsister, Ashley Childers, Great Bend, KS.

Curtis was preceded in death by his father, Gerald Ulmer and his mother, Lee Ann Childers.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 7:00 pm, Thursday, October 8, 2020 at Derfelt Funeral Home, Columbus, KS.

Funeral service will be at 7:00 pm, Thursday October 8, 2020 at Derfelt Funeral Home, Columbus, KS. Aaron Williams will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Derfelt Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.
