Snuffy Sumners

Delbert Wayne "Snuffy" Sumners, age 55, Sarcoxie, passed away on Friday, October 2, 2020 at Sarcoxie Nursing Center.

Snuffy was born October 1, 1965 in Oakland, California, son of the late Emmett R. Sumners and Patricia A. Cortez Sumners. He grew up in California, and worked for several companies in construction, and as a handy man, mainly in Texas before moving to this area several years ago.

In addition to his parents, Snuffy was preceded in death by a brother, Dallas Sumners, and a sister, Tera Sumners.

Survivors include his brother, Greg Sumners of Carthage, Missouri; sister, Sultana "Tanny" Groce of Joplin; nephews, Joey Sumners of Carthage, and Jeran Black (Hannah) of Joplin; great-nieces and nephews, Joey Sumners, II, Samantha Sumners, Austin Sumners, Hannah Sumners, Peyton Sumners, Presley Sumners, Ashley Sumners-Rodriquez, Denton Sumners, Bryan Garza, Tiffney Garza, Katori Black and Meylla Black.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary. Private family services will be at a later date with burial in Texas with his parents.
