(From Mason-Woodard Mortuary)Lance Eric Helm, 49, went to be with his Master on September 23, 2020. Lance was born on August 23, 1971 in Joplin.
Lance began his life in the food industry beginning with Garfield’s restaurant in Joplin where he would bus tables, work the kitchen prep line, tend bar and eventually cooking and management. He then transferred with Garfield’s to Columbia, Jefferson City and Kansas City. He also worked for many other restaurants before returning to Joplin in 2006.
He married the love of his life, Sheena Myers on August 8, 2008. He loved gardening and had a special place in his heart for his wife’s daughter, Summer who he helped raise. He also loved animals, especially his dogs.

Lance was preceded in death by his wife, Sheena Helm, his Father Chris Helm, his brother Nathan Helm, his uncle Tommy Helm, his paternal grandfather Tom Helm and paternal grandmother Katharine (Billie) Helm and maternal grandfather Albert Wolfe.
He is survived by his mother Becky Walling and husband Jack, his maternal grandmother Barbara Wolfe, aunts Alison Simpson and husband Richard, Cindy Murray and husband Tim, Vicky Repplinger and husband John a niece Maddi Helm and many loved cousins and dear friends.
The family will receive friends on October 5, 2020 at Mason Woodard Mortuary, Joplin beginning at 5:00 p.m. Memorial services will begin at 6:00 p.m. For the safety of the family and those attending services, please consider wearing a mask and follow current social distancing protocols. Memorial gifts are suggested to The Joplin Humane Society.
