(From Simpson Funeral Home)Roy Dale Melugin age 78 of Republic, Missouri passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2020 at Cox South Hospital in Springfield. He was born on May 2, 1942 in Cassville, Missouri to Floyd R. Melugin and Helen (Dilworth) Melugin.
Roy loved to sing, and he sang for many years in church. He loved all his children and grandchildren. One of his favorite things was coaching his kids in sports, along with hunting with his kids. Roy never missed a Kansas City Chiefs football game after he retired from being a machinist for 40 years.
After his retirement he went to work for his son at Courtesy Bail Bonds. Roy’s kindness will truly be missed.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie (Bray) Melugin of Republic; sons, Dale Melugin and wife Misty (York) Melugin of Republic, Richard Melugin and wife Liz Powell Melugin of Carl Junction, Doug Melugin and wife Stephanie of Galena, Kansas; daughters, Marcia Lynn Melugin of Joplin, Tracy Ann Spry of Carl Junction; sister, Ila Jean Kirby of Carl Junction; brother, Dwayne Melugin of Webb City; 16 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at 12:30 PM at Carl Junction Cemetery with Doug Melugin officiating.
