(From Clark Funeral Home)Lamoygne McDowell was born December 16, 1927 in Agency, Missouri, one of seven children to Harry and Lottie (Swindler) Mann. She entered into rest with her family at her side at her home in Joplin, following 2 months of declining health at the age of 91.
Lamoygne moved to St. Joseph, Missouri and had worked at Big Smith, then moved to Carthage in 1962 and from Carthage to Neosho in 1967. She worked as manager at retail clothing stores in Neosho and was a homemaker.
Lamoygne was a talented musician playing many different instruments, singing and yodeling. She and her husband, Dallas called and performed at square dances and she enjoyed camping and fishing with her family. She was a member of the Diamond Baptist Church.
Lamoygne and Dallas McDowell were married on August 23, 1947 in St. Joseph, Missouri and shared 59 years together before his death on September 19, 2006.
She is survived by a daughter, Monna (Dennis) Goode of Joplin; six grandchildren, Tina Short, Chad Hodkin, Caleb Goode, Amber Jones, Johnathan Goode and Chantz McDowell; six great grandchildren, Dexter (Shelby) Short, Kammie Short and fiance' Keith Simpson, Brooklyn Hodkin and fiance' Wyatt Hatfield, Cody Jones, Wyatt Jones and Alivia Sutton and three great great grandchildren, Barryn Simpson, Leighton Short and Raegan Short.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Hughes, a son, Terrance 'Terry' McDowell; four sisters and two brothers.
