Norma Walsh

Norma Jean Walsh, age 97, Carl Junction, passed away on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at her home.

Norma was born in California, daughter of the late Guy B. Hayes and Ursula (Benefield) Hayes. She grew up living in several locations before graduating from Kirkwood, Missouri High School. 

She married Robert E. Walsh in 1944; he preceded her in death after 64 years of marriage. Norma was formerly a member of the Parish Council of Catholic Women at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Joplin, and was currently a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Webb City.








In addition to her parents and her husband, Norma was preceded in death by a brother, Guy B. Hayes, Jr., a sister, Marion Husted Smith, her niece, Patricia Akin, and her nephew Scott Husted.

Survivors include her daughter, Kelly Reddin and husband Steve of Joplin; grandchildren, Benjamin Reddin (Alissa Sharp), and Rebecca Reddin (Gabriel Robinson Gonzalez); great-grandchild, Rei Fiona Reddin.

A special thanks to the caregivers of Home Instead and to the nurses of Avalon Hospice for caring about as well as caring for Norma. Your services were invaluable and greatly appreciated.

Funeral Mass will be Thursday, January 20, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Francisco “Paco” Gordillo. Interment will follow in Osborne Memorial Cemetery.

A rosary will be recited on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. in Parker Mortuary Chapel with family receiving friends from 7:00 p.m. until time of the Rosary.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Area Agency on Aging or Children’s Haven.
