Ann Foulks

Ann Foulks, age 88, Carl Junction, passed away on Friday, January 21, 2022 at Oak Pointe of Carthage.

Ann was born July 10, 1933 in Windsor, Missouri, daughter of the late Bertie Elvan Bourke and Gertrude (Coleman) Bourke, “Bertie and Gertie”. She graduated from William Chrisman High School in Independence, Missouri in 1951. 










She worked for years as a bookkeeper and retired as Office Manager of Joplin Beauty and Barber Supply. Her real love was being a homemaker for her husband Edward, and taking care of her family. She was of the Baptist Faith, and volunteered with the Red Cross and the VFW Auxiliary. 

While her kids were younger, she was also known as the official score keeper for all their games. Her husband was in the military, so they lived in several locations over the years. She lived in Independence, Missouri, Tucson, Arizona, Merced, California, Ft. Worth, Texas, Hahn Air Base and Ramstein Air Base both in Germany, Charleston, South Carolina, before moving to Carl Junction after his retirement. She and Edward were very involved with all of the boys sporting activities over the years.

In addition to her parents, Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Edward E. Foulks who passed away on January 3, 2022, and a son, Steven Alan Foulks.

She is survived by sons, Lawrence Edward “Eddie” Foulks and wife Rhonda of Carl Junction, Terry Eugene Foulks of Mount Vernon, Missouri; grandchildren, Melinda Ann Doyle and husband Shawn of Jasper, Missouri, Jason Foulks and wife Jill of Webb City, Lawrence Edward “Ed” Foulks, II. and wife Stacy of Warrensburg, Missouri, Brandi Jo Boulware and husband Chad of Webb City, Shawn Foulks and wife Tina, Justin Foulks, and Tyler Foulks and wife Erin all of Watauga, Texas; 13 great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the staff of Oak Point of Carthage and Avalon Hospice for all the care and love shown to Shirley.

Graveside service will be held Thursday, February 3, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in Carl Junction Cemetery with her ashes being buried next to her husband, Edward.
