David Dyer

David William Dyer, 73, Carthage, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at Landmark Hospital, Joplin, Missouri. David was born October 21, 1948, to John Calvin Dyer and Nadine Faye (Russell) Dyer. He lived his entire life in Carthage. He was a graduate of Carthage High School. 

David was a United States Army veteran and served two years in Vietnam. David married Patricia Donnel on November 10, 1973; she preceded him in death on February 4, 2018. 








He retired from Dyno Nobel, formerly Hercules Powder Plant. David was an avid antique car collector and showman.

He is survived by two sisters, JoAnna “Jody” Kyte, and Lawana Lovekamp (Ed); a sister-in-law, Joyce Forsyth (Brian); his pet dog, Matty; seven nephews, one niece, and many extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, grandparents, a brother, John, and a sister, Carol.



Funeral services will be held 2 pm, Monday, January 24, 2022, at Knell Mortuary, Carthage. Burial will follow the service at Park Cemetery, Carthage. The family will receive friends from 2-3 pm, Sunday, January 23, 2022, at Knell Mortuary. The family requests that masks be worn for the services.
