Gary Merryman

Gary Brent Merryman, Sr., age 79, of Concordia, Missouri, passed away on January 22, 2022, at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri. He was born March 26, 1942, in Jackson County, Missouri to the late James Robert Cleary and Bonnie Trader. 

On February 23, 1979, he married Bernice Elam in Kansas City, Kansas. She preceded him in death on April 24, 2012. 










Gary worked as a machinist and welder for Brown Industries in Kansas City and later retired from the Lutheran Good Shephard Home where he worked in maintenance and was a longtime member of the Maple Hill Baptist Church in Kansas City, Kansas. Gary was very active, and his favorite pastime was riding his bike on the Katy Trail.

He is survived by his two sons, Timothy Merryman and Danny Merryman of Neosho, Missouri; two daughters, Kelly and Shelly Merryman; stepdaughter, Tammy Moore of Elwood, Kansas; ten grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, his son, Gary Merryman, Jr. and stepdaughter, Suzette Girardin also preceded him in death.

A graveside service, under the direction of the Clark Funeral Home in Granby, Missouri, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 28, 2022. Family and friends may view at the funeral home from 9:00-10:30 a.m. on Friday, prior to the service.
