Velma Brauburger
(From Daniel Funeral Home)Velma Louise Brauburger, age 93, of Golden City, Missouri passed away December 27, 2021, at Good Shepherd Community Care in Lockwood, Missouri.
Velma was born April 20, 1928 in Golden City, MO to Floyd Bertrand Sullivan and Emily (Litle) Sullivan. On March 12, 1949, Velma married Willard Leon Brauburger in Golden City, MO.
Velma worked as a homemaker and a farmer's wife. Velma was a member of the first Christian Church of Golden City, MO. She was also a member of the Lions Club, was an EMT with the Golden City Ambulance for 12 years, was a daycare prekindergarten teacher, was a member of the United Methodist Women, Marion Township Treasurer and a Sunday school teacher. Velma's hobbies included gardening, counted cross stitch and her collections of angels, bells, cardinals and nativity scenes along with being an avid card player.
Survivors include one son, Scott (Janice) Brauburger of Carthage, Missouri, one daughter-in-law, Danna Brauburger of Nixa, Missouri, three grandchildren; Rachael (Darreon) Allen of Bentonville, Arkansas, Emily (Terry) DeWeese of Wahiawa, Hawaii and Lyle Brauburger of Nixa, MO., two step-granddaughters; Susan (Stephen) Fodor of Carterville, Missouri and Shelly Kyte of Quaker Mills, Missouri, four step great grandchildren, along with four step great-great grandchildren, one sister-in-law, Kathryn Sullivan of Golden City, MO., and one aunt, Rubye Sullivan of California and many nieces and nephews.
Velma was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two sons; Lyle Wayne and Gary "Joe", one daughter-in-law, Debbie, one brother, Jack Sullivan and one sister, Norma Parnell.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at the First Christian Church in Golden City, MO., with burial to follow at Morehead Cemetery in Lamar, MO.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 pm, Monday, January 3, 2022 at the First Christian Church in Golden City, MO.
