(From Parker Mortuary)Debra D. Huffman, age 72 of Neosho, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at The Seneca House following an extended illness.
Debra was born on November 20, 1950 to the late Ishmael (T-Bone) Watkins and Purnie Bresee Watkins in the back of an ambulance on her way to the hospital in Joplin.
She worked as a laborer for Tysons for many years, but her greatest job was taking care of her husband and family. She was a faithful member of Hornet Christian Church.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, James Huffman of Neosho. Additional survivors include a son, Jeremy Huffman and wife, Brandie of Mt. View, Arkansas; daughters, Dena Gaston of Galena, Kansas, Elaine Baker of Spring City, Missouri, Dora Davis and husband, Cory of Springdale, Arkansas; adopted daughter, Chelsie Lamar and husband, Stephen of Monett, Missouri; 13 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and several extended family and friends.
The best words that describe our Mema are: the kindest soul and lovingest heart of a wife, momma, grandma, and great grandma that anyone could have asked for.
Some would say she was the most stubborn mule around! She was the first to cook to feed your hungry tummy. She was the BEST cake maker, quilt sewer, and yarn doer. She was the quickest to whomp your butt in cards, Mexican train dominoes, and Chinese checkers! Our sweet soul and loving, huggable Mema!
A memorial service is planned for Saturday, April 15, 2023 at 11a.m. at Hornet Christian Church with lunch to follow.
