Edward Johnston

Edward Dale Johnston, age 73, of Marionville, Missouri, passed away at 11:38 p.m. on Friday, March 31, 2023, at Cox South Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. He was born September 27, 1949, in Aurora, Missouri, the son of Jacob Edward and Wilda Maxine (Duke) Johnston.

Edward was a 1967 graduate from Marionville High School. He was a Master Craftsman Cook at Silver Dollar City and was a truck driver for Journagan Construction Company. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and cooking.









On January 7, 2000, he married Betty Susan Quillin, in Marionville, Missouri.

Edward is survived by his wife of 23 years, Betty; his mother, Maxine Brashers, of Marionville, Missouri; three daughters, Michelle Hilton and her husband, Andy, of Aurora, Missouri, Angel Dean and her husband, Joey, of Marionville, Missouri and Fern Fisher of Joplin, Missouri; two sons, Jacob Johnston and his wife, Shilo, of Cassville, Missouri and Richard Morris of Springfield, Missouri; two adopted daughters, Desiree Kirby and her husband, Josh, and Leah Stark, all of Marionville, Missouri; two sisters, Cheryl Lampe, of Camdenton, Missouri and Debbie Hopkins and her husband, Brent, of Marionville, Missouri; one brother, Jimmy Brashers and his wife, Elizabeth, of Mt. Vernon, Missouri; 29 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Edward was preceded in death by his father, Jacob, and son, Truman Morris.








A celebration of Edward’s life will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at the First Baptist Church in Clever, Missouri, 105 Kennedy Ave., Clever, Missouri. Arrangements are under the direction of the Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home, in Aurora, Missouri.
