(From Simpson Funeral Home)Russell J. Schell, Sr. age 85 of Alba, Missouri passed away on April 3, 2023 at Freeman West Hospital. He attended Alba Schools, and then transferred to Carthage High School where he graduated.
Russell was a Master Mason at Criterion Lodge of Alba, Missouri # 508, a Shriner, and a lifetime member of the Scottish Rite of Joplin, Missouri, where he had many friends. He owned and operated R.J. Schell construction for several years and worked in the pipeline and construction industries for most of his life.
Russell was preceded in death by his loving mother, Betty Jo and father, Clint Schell; one sister, Linda Murray; and one brother, Rickey Clinton Schell.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Pansy J. (Boyer) Schell of Alba, Missouri; his 2 sons, Rusty Schell and wife Joann of Columbus, Kansas, Rocky Schell and wife Linda of Webb City, Missouri; 4 granddaughters, Alissa Oleksa and husband Larry, Lacey Scheirer and husband Zach, Christan Schell and husband Marc, Jacqueline Rogers and husband Josey; 4 great granddaughters, and 4 great grandsons.
Russell's wishes were to be cremated and the family will have services at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under the personal care of Simpson Funeral Home in Webb City. The family encourages relatives and friends to visit www.simpsonfh.com to share photos and memories of Russell.
