(From Clark Funeral Home)William O. 'Bill' Henton was born on October 13, 1947, in Bethany, Missouri, one of four sons to Orval and Nina (Goodwin) Henton. He entered into rest on August 6, 2024, in Neosho, Missouri, at the age of 76.
Bill grew up in St. Joseph, Missouri, and graduated from Central High School. He received a bachelor's degree from Northwest Missouri State University, where he was a member of the Delta Sigma Phi fraternity. He was a lifelong educator who taught and coached for 36 years, 28 of them in the Neosho junior and senior high school. He retired in 2008.
Bill enjoyed golfing, watching Wildcat sports and loyally following the Kansas City Royals and Chiefs, and traveling to favorite places like Las Vegas.
On August 8, 1969, in Maryville, Missouri, Bill and Dolores Linderman were united in marriage and they shared fifty-four years together.
In addition to his wife, Dolores, Bill is survived by one daughter, Michelle Henton of Springfield, Missouri: three brothers, Steve Henton and his wife, Susan, David Henton and wife, Tina and Charlie Henton and wife, Macoe, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.
A Memorial visitation will be held on Monday, August 12, 2024, at the Clark Funeral Home, Neosho, from 4:00 - 5:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions be made to the American Heart Association, c/o Clark Funeral Home, PO Box 66; Neosho, MO 64850.
He was a good teacher and a good man he will be missed
ReplyDeleteMr. Henton was a great teacher and wonderful basketball coach! He made me really love the game and want to do my best! He was kind and appreciated throughout my school years. He will be greatly missed.
