Peggy Panther

Peggy Panther, age 74, went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 in Tulsa, OK. She was born on November 23, 1949 in Kenwood, OK to Henry Buck and Susie Bark-Chumwaooky.

Peggy attended Grade School at Wickliffe and Jay High School in Jay, OK. She worked various jobs but her most favorite job was being a custodian at Betty Ann Nursing Center in Grove, OK where she took much pride in cleaning every resident’s room to their liking.








Peggy loved to go fishing and play bingo and was also known as “the bingo Queen” and she also loved going to thrift stores and yard sales.

She loved to collect various items, such as sterling silver jewelry. She loved to watch the OKC Thunder with her family and friends. Peggy loved to go out to eat, her favorite was at Golden Corral. She was a fluent speaker (Cherokee) full blood (4/4) and a member of Round Springs Baptist Church in Eucha, OK. Peggy was a very outspoken person and would tell you how it is, never a stranger, she loved to cook, and always made her favorite chicken and dumplings. We will miss her dearly, but we know heaven gained a precious loving angel and one day we will all be united together Eternally.

Peggy is proceeded in death by her Parents Henry Buck and Susie Chumalooky-Bark; 3 Siblings Alice Ward, Bernard Ross and James Buck; and her son Rick Panther.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Elmer Panther, Sr. of Jay, OK they were united in marriage on May 11, 1975 in Miami, OK; her sons, Gary Mouse (Mr. Ryan) of Jay, OK and Elmer (Fudd) Panther, Jr. and wife Nina of Kansas, OK; her sisters, Elizabeth (Shawl) Wolfe of Salina, OK and Josphine (Doxie) Panther of Lanagan, Missouri; 11 grandkids; 8 great-grandkids; numerous nephews, nieces, cousins extended family and friends.

Peggy’s Celebration of Life Wake Service, with Pastor Cullus Buck, will be held on Monday, 6:00pm, August 26, 2024 at Lawson’s Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 311 W. Gray St., Jay, OK 74346. Followed by her family visitation to greet friends until 8:00pm.







Peggy’s Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, 2:00pm, August 27, 2024 at Lawson’s Funeral Homes & Cremation Services Chapel, 311 W. Gray St., Jay, OK 74346, with Pastor Guy Soldier and Pastor Jason Gann officiating. Followed by Peggy’s funeral procession to Round Springs Cemetery, Eucha, OK.

Peggy’s burial will be held at Round Springs Cemetery, Eucha, OK 74342.

Arrangements are entrusted to Lawson’s Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 311 W Gray St., Jay, OK. 74346 with Shaunda J. Lawsons, 3rd Genration Owner/Funeral Director and Staff.
