(From Greenfield Funeral Chapel)Barbara Jean Smith, of Springfield, MO, departed this life on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at Wilson’s Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility in Springfield, MO at the age of 80.
She was born on February 27, 1944 in Dade County, MO to Keller and Maggie (Cowan) Smith. Barbara graduated from Dadeville High School in 1962, and earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Southwest Missouri State College. She was a dedicated lifelong teacher.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Keller and Maggie Smith; two brothers, Amos Smith and Verl Smith; and two sisters, Ethel Smith and Elvah Smith.
Survivors include one sister, Mary Smith; seven nieces; two nephews; and a host of great nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at the Dadeville Masonic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dadeville Masonic Cemetery. Services are under the care of Greenfield Funeral Chapel.
