(From Knell Mortuary)Thelma Lousie Maggard, 79, Carthage, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at the Sunnyhills Residential Care Facility. She was born on April 12, 1945, in Carthage, Missouri, the daughter of the late Fred L. Smith and Edna I. (Poulson) Smith. She was employed with Big Smith and later for F.A.G. Bearing until her retirement. Thelma loved to sew and cook, especially for her family.
Survivors include her grandchildren, Chelsea Atkinson (Sage), and Dustin Lackey (Justice); great grandchildren, Aleice, Aleigha, Ivy, Korbin, and Rayna; and caregiver, Laurie Lackey (Pat).
Thelma was preceded in death by two sons, Douglas, and Daniel Maggard; a brother; and two sisters.
Graveside services will be held at 10 am Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at the Fullerton Cemetery. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.knellmortuary.com. Arrangements are under the direction and personal care of Knell Mortuary.
