(From Parker Mortuary)Luis David Tovar-Lara, age 19 of Carthage, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly at his home following a short illness. Luis was born on January 16, 2005 in Cartagena, Bolivar, Colombia to Luis Tovar-Salgado and Raquel Lara-Gomez.
Luis graduated from Carthage High School with the class of 2024. He spent much of his time working out at the gym or attending his church, Alfa Y Omega Covenant Church in Carthage.
Luis is survived by his parents, Luis and Raquel of Carthage; sister, Nicole Tovar-Lara of the home; paternal grandparents, Luis Tovar-Silva and Adalgiza Salgado-Borja, of Colombia; maternal grandparents, Cesar Manjarez-Salazar and Martha Gomez-Cruzate, also of Colombia.
Visitation will be on Thursday, August 29, 2024 from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri. Burial will follow at a later date in Cartagena, Bolivar, Colombia.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
