Kenneth Mangum

Kenneth Loyd Mangum, age 81, Joplin, passed away on Thursday, August 1, 2024 at Carthage Health and Rehab.

Kenneth was born June 12, 1943 in Plainview, TX, son of the late Carl Mangum, Jr., and Mary Doris (Echols) Mangum. He worked for years as a copier technician in Joplin. He was very proud of his sobriety since 1999, and was there for many as a sponsor over the years during their journey. He will be greatly missed by many.








Survivors include his children, Brenda and Cary Simmons, Ed “Mutt” and Jamie Burden, Sheila and David Fetherlin, Kenn and Margot Mangum, Jerry and Danette Mangum, Ginnie and Kirsten Williams; grandchildren, Seth and Heather Pierce, Rae and Matt Mumford, Bryce and Katy Burden, Jordan and Grant Freeman, Dakota Burden, Craig and Heather Williams, Andre Mangum, Rebekah, Greg, Kim Scott and Hannah Shelton, John Eden, Craig and Angie Williams, and Heather Williams; great-grandchildren, Kingston, Jaxon, Memphis, Hudson, Kyzan, Marilyn, Canon Brylee, Brianna, Scotty, Logan, Liam, Dominic; one sister-in-law, Bonnie and husband Argyle Janzen; many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at the Alano Club in Joplin, 1800 E. 30th St., with family and friends officiating.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
