Greg Beeler

Gregory Keith Beeler, Sr., age 76, Joplin, passed away on Tuesday evening August 13, 2024 from natural causes.

Greg was born May 6, 1948 in Joplin, son of the late George Washington Beeler, Jr. and Elizabeth Maurine (Siler) Beeler. He grew up in Joplin and graduated from Joplin High School in 1966. He then went to Pittsburg State University working on his degree in Biology. He was a proud member of the National Guard 203rd Hound Dog. 








He worked for over 32 years with SW Bell starting out as a lineman, and retiring as a splicer. He served on the Jasper County Election Board for many years.

Greg was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a proud Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts. He was also known for his gardening skills, growing both vegetables and flowers. During his younger years he was a little league coach for the Metropolitan League in Joplin and spent many years working with youth as a boxing coach both with the Boys Club and later his own club, The Other Club from 1978 – 1984. He loved his family history and spent many hours researching his family genealogy. He was a devoted St. Louis Cardinals Fan, and a member of the First Baptist Church of Joplin. He was a loving family man who was a positive influence on so many over the years. He will be greatly missed by many.

In addition to his parents, Greg was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Cecil Beeler.








Survivors include his daughter, Kerri Clark and husband Jody, a son, Keith Beeler and wife Karen all of Saginaw; grandchildren, Zakkary Huddleston and husband Alex, Audrey Clark, Adam Miller, Zachary Miller, Marshall Beeler, Savanah Beeler, and Christopher Beeler; great-grandchildren, Paisley Haney, Madison Miller, Issac Miller, and Everett Figard; brother, Mike Beeler and wife Phyllis of Joplin; sister, Jackie Gardner and husband Gary of Grove, OK; several nieces and nephews including James Richard Beeler and wife Vicki and Gary Daniel Beeler.

The funeral service will be Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. in the Parker Mortuary Chapel with his son, Keith Beeler, officiating. Interment will follow in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery with Zakkary Huddleston, Marshall Beeler, Christopher Beeler, Jamie Beeler, Gary Beeler, and Kaden Agee serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at Parker Mortuary on Tuesday from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.




The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Joplin Boys Club.
