Ina Carden

Ina Lee Carden, 87, of Joplin, Mo passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Saturday, August 10th, 2024 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in McNatt, Mo. to J. Harvey and Florice Carter on November 23, 1936. She and Max lived in Joplin until 1972 then resided in Rogers, Ar. for over 50 years. In June 2023, she and the love of her life Max had returned to Joplin to be closer to family. She had worked in the banking industry in Joplin and Rogers until her retirement in 1998. She was a member of Bible Fellowship of NWA, in Rogers, Ark.








Until their deaths, her greatest joy in life was spending time with her only grandchildren, Lindsay and Landon. Family, friends, watching Razorback basketball, baseball with her beloved husband Max, reading her bible, daily devotionals, working crossword puzzles, following her cherished friends and family on facebook and extending her love and friendship to everyone she came in contact were a few of the many things she was best at and filled her days with gratitude and pleasure.

Ina married Max Lee Carden in May of 1956. In May, they celebrated 68 years of marriage. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; grandchildren, Lindsay Lee and Landon Lee; and one brother, John Lester Carter. 








Survivors include husband, Max Lee of the home; two daughters, Christy and husband Doug Rhodes of Joplin and Cathy Hutchinson and husband Tom of Hilltop Lakes, Tx.; many cherished nieces, nephews and friend Gloria Broadbooks that she lovingly referred to as her #3 daughter.

There will be a visitation at 11:00 AM and a Celebration of Life at 12:00 PM, on Thursday, August 15, 2024, at the Duenweg Christian Church, with Pastor Mike Wilkins officiating.

Interment will occur at a later date at Forest Park Cemetery in Joplin.
