Marvin McCrery

Marvin Ray McCrery, age 83, passed away on August 17, 2024 in Nevada, Missouri (formally from Jerico Springs, MO). Born on April 12, 1941, in Walker, Missouri to Claude L. McCrery and Eunice May (Hulse) McCrery. 

Marvin dedicated over three decades of his life to the Jerico Springs Fire Department, where he was deeply committed to serving and protecting his community. He was a beloved figure at the fire station, known for his readiness and passion for firefighting. Leaving behind a legacy of mentorship and dedication to community service, ultimately retiring in 2020. 








Marvin worked for Hammons Products for several years. Marvin also spent over two decades working at Thorco Industries in Lamar, MO until his retirement. His commitment to mentoring young individuals extended into sports and various life skills, helping others to achieve their best.

Marvin is survived by his wife of 35 years, Patty (Holder) McCrery, of the home; his daughter, Robin McCrery of Golden City, MO; Two Granddaughters; sister in law, Nancy McCrery, of Nevada, MO; Rosea Holder, of Jerico Springs, MO; brother in law, Elton (Judy) Holder, El Dorado Springs, MO; sister in law, Betty (Joe) Young, Boaz, MO; along with several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

Marvin was proceeded in death by his parents Claude L. McCrery, Eunice M (Hulse) McCrery; as well as his siblings Virginia Moore, Richard McCrery; his brother in law Donald D Holder; and grandparents.








Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at 5:00 PM at Bland/Brumback Funeral Home in Stockton, MO. The funeral service will follow on Friday, August 23, 2024, at 10:00 AM at the same location. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Marvin's memory may be made to the Jerico Springs/Olympia Fire Department, honoring his lifelong commitment to firefighting and community service.

Bland/Brumback Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Marvin’s dedication and service have left an indelible mark on his community, and his memory will be cherished by all who knew him.
