Linda Mae Blunt, age 71, of Mt. Vernon, Missouri, passed away at 7:25 a.m. on Friday, July 10, 2020, at her home. She was born May 15, 1949, in Enid, Oklahoma, the daughter of Loyal and Thelma (Gainer) Blevins.
Linda and her husband, Byron, were the owners of Blunt’s One Stop and Fastrip Gas and Convenience Stores in Mt. Vernon and she was a member of The Sheep Shed Church in Neosho, Missouri.
On September 16, 1977, she married Byron Blunt in Mt. Vernon.
Linda is survived by her husband of 42 years, Byron; three daughters, Mary Myers and her husband, Bill, of Miller, Missouri, Lynn McIntyre and her husband, Jim, of St. Joseph, Missouri and Pamela Roark and her husband, John, of Tuscumbia, Missouri; one son, Troy Blunt and his wife, Leigh Ann, of Warrensburg, Missouri; three brothers, Hobert Gainer of Bedford, New Jersey, Phillip Gainer of Enid, Oklahoma and Byron Gainer of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two sisters, Marilyn Dunlap of Enid, Oklahoma and Jean Carson of Fairmont, Oklahoma; 13 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Loyal and Thelma, three brothers, Norman, Leroy and Dean, two sisters, Joan and Janet and her mother-in-law, Margret Blunt.
A visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday, July 13, 2020, at the Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon. A visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at The Sheep Shed Church, 8471 Gateway Drive, Neosho, Missouri, with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at The Sheep Shed Cemetery.
